The Angel Island Immigration Museum is a contemporary permanent exhibit housed within the remodeled hospital building at the historic immigration station on Angel Island. We created an interactive space that presents personal stories, immigration policies, and social issues from both historic and contemporary times. The exhibits draw upon the diversity of Angel Island’s history by highlighting profiles of immigrants from China, Korea, Vietnam, Russia, Japan, India, Mexico, the Philippines, and more.

In collaboration with the content and environmental design team, we developed a mix of provocative questions and visual/tactile moments to serve various learning styles. I was responsible for the accessible design and layout of infographics, photography, personal narratives, and other custom pieces throughout the exhibit.
